Kenny Jackett ready to scour for Wolves loans

Kenny Jackett is ready to scour the loan market to boost Wolves firepower for the Championship run-in.

While talks continue over Kevin Doyle's proposed move to Colorado Rapids, Jackett is open to bringing in new faces to provide his side with added attacking spark, if the right players become available.

Wolves are currently the lowest scorers in the division's top ten, having netted just 38 goals in 31 games.

And when asked if he is happy with his options in attack, Jackett added: "I am but if there's players available before the March deadline and I feel, as much as anything else, that some players coming in could give us some fresh energy.

"The side, at times, needs some fresh energy and so that's a possibility.

"We've got quite a lot of defenders so it does gravitate towards the forward positions; creative goalscoring, centre forwards – those type of positions are more open and I would suggest that you need more flexibility in that to really be dynamic and create and score goals."

Wolves signed Benik Afobe from Arsenal in January for a fee believed to be in the region of £2million.

But he was their only attacking addition, while several forwards were sent out on loan.

Youngsters Jake Cassidy and Liam McAlinden are currently at Southend and Fleetwood respectively, while Bjorn Sigurdarson is at FC Copenhagen and Leon Clarke was sent to Wigan.

Jackett went on: "It's something that we are considering, if the right players become available. "That would hopefully spark our team.

"You are always looking but the longer we go on, I do feel that the more options we have the better."

While Doyle's move to the US has progressed no further, Jackett insists discussions are still taking place.

The 31-year-old, a £6.5million signing in 2009, has not played for the club this season and spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Crystal Palace.

"Talks are still ongoing between Colorado, Wolves and Kevin's representatives," said Jackett.

"They haven't got any further but they haven't gone away either. It's not settled, there's still talks going on."
