Jose helped Nuno Espirito Santo’s side to a 1-0 victory over Leeds on Friday night, making it four unbeaten in the Premier League.
The Brazilian is still looking for his first goal in gold and black after being signed on loan from Spanish club Real Sociedad in January – with the option to buy for £22million in the summer.
But skipper Coady is a big fan of the 29-year-old and his physical qualities as he said: “He gives us so much.
“We try to play it out from the back, but you can go a little longer to him.
“He takes it down with his chest as he’s big and strong. He holds it up.
“He gives us so much, as does every striker in this club, but he’s been fantastic since coming in.
“He’s a brilliant lad, and he’s learning. I think you can see he’s learning with every game.
“What he brings to the team is brilliant, so hopefully that goal will come soon.
“But the most important thing is that he’s helping the team no end.”
While happy with the contribution of Jose, Coady was also delighted to grab a clean sheet against Leeds.
It was their seventh of the campaign, with Rui Patricio shining, and the captain added: “It’s massive. We pride ourselves on that.
“We’ve kept a lot of clean sheets over the years.
“We went away from it over the last couple of months, so we’ve been talking about it all the time.
“It’s a massive part of football, and a massive part of how we want to play.
“And it’s the whole team. When you see how compact we are in our shape, it makes it easier.
“So, it was a huge win and a big clean sheet moving forward for us, definitely.”
