Stourbridge children perform with Britain’s Got Talent star at concert
The young performers joined The Opera Boys and Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts for a sold-out show at Stourbridge Town Hall
Fifty-six young performers from Stourbridge have taken to the stage alongside former Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts and professional opera singers at a sold-out concert.

The children, aged seven to 15, from Stagecoach Stourbridge performed at Stourbridge Town Hall on Saturday, October 10, as part of The Opera Boys’ farewell tour.
The touring group, which is retiring after more than 15 years together, was joined by tenor Paul Potts, who won the first series of Britain’s Got Talent in 2007.
The Stagecoach students spent two months preparing four songs with singing teacher Kerrie Jones, including Nessun Dorma, which they performed alongside Potts.
The youngsters had rehearsed separately until the day of the concert, when they met The Opera Boys at the town hall for a sound check and their first rehearsal together before performing in front of a packed audience.

Stagecoach Stourbridge principal Hayley Thompson said the children had shown commitment and enthusiasm throughout the preparation process.
She said: “Our children rose to the challenge brilliantly, showing real commitment and enthusiasm throughout the preparation process and delivering a performance they can be incredibly proud of.
“It was a truly special experience for everyone involved, giving the children a unique insight into working with professional artists and performing as part of a live touring production in front of a packed theatre.”
The school said the opportunity was particularly special because there were no auditions, with all 56 performers attending its weekly performing arts classes.

A spokesperson said: “Our 56 students are everyday children who attend their performing arts classes each week. They were simply given an opportunity to challenge themselves, work alongside professional performers and experience something truly unforgettable.
“These are ordinary local children doing something extraordinary, and that is something worth celebrating and sharing with our local community.”
Stagecoach Stourbridge provides singing, dancing and acting classes for children aged four to 18.
Enrolment is open for students wishing to join in January. More information is available at the Stagecoach Stourbridge website.
