The 25-year-old is delighted to have reached the goal he had in mind when he signed from Huddersfield Town three years ago.

He says the feeling of going up to the Premier League is similar to that of becoming a father.

"I'm ecstatic, I really am. All the boys are. It's a massive, massive thing for this football club," said Coady.

"We've been out (of the Premier League) for too long, it wasn't good enough, but we can forget about that now.

"We've had a hell of a season and we're going to enjoy the last three games. We want to do well in them.

"We're going to enjoy them, with a smile on our faces like we've had all season.

"The feeling, I've had two boys and it's right up there with that. It's fantastic."

Wolves are unable to celebrate quite as they would like to tonight, as some of the players are going to the EFL Awards ceremony in London.

Therefore, they will all go out as a group following the Sheffield Wednesday game at Molineux on Saturday, April 28.

"I think we're going to plan something for after Sheffield Wednesday, do it properly as a team," said Coady, who has performed superbly since switching from central midfield to centre-half at the start of the campaign.

Former Liverpool youngster Coady also spoke of how it felt knowing promotion was confirmed yesterday, and then being tasked with carrying on the party with a win at home against Birmingham today.

He hailed boss Nuno Espirito Santo for not letting any complacency creep in. Nuno was in the thick of celebrations at the team hotel after Brentford got a last-gasp equaliser at Fulham, but then took a moment to hold a meeting with his players.

"It wasn't difficult with the manager we have, he focuses you every single minute of every single day – that's what he's like," added Coady.

"We had a little bit of a celebration (last night) and it was fantastic but, straight away, we held a meeting to say 'listen, we've got a big derby tomorrow for our supporters'.

"We wanted to win it and we prepared right, the same as we do for every single game. The manager keeps you focused."
