Price of football study: Wolfing down pies for cut-price £3.10 at Wolves
The cost of supporting Wolves is more expensive than a year ago – but in general the club still fares well compared to others in the Championship.
A number of the club's prices from 2015/16 have gone up, including their cheapest season ticket and, marginally, their cheapest matchday ticket and the cost of a cup of tea.
Tickets for away fans at Molineux have also gone up from £28 to £30. But the price of a pie has been slashed from £3.60 to £3.10.
All other prices have stayed the same and Wolves are middle-of-the-road when it comes to most categories.
However, their cheapest matchday ticket is £25 – up slightly from £24 last season – and this is above the Championship average of £22.11. Near neighbours Blues offer a £15 matchday ticket, while Villa also beat Wolves with a £20 ticket.
Only Ipswich (£30), Leeds (£30) and QPR (£29) are higher than Wolves when it comes to the cheapest ticket available.
Wolves fare far better with their most expensive matchday ticket, which is £30, well below the league average of £36.13.
Only Rotherham (£27) and Burton (£24) have cheaper tickets in their 'most expensive' category.
Wolves' cheapest season ticket is £345, placing them 12th in the table (Huddersfield are 24th with the cheapest at £179, and Norwich first with £499.50).
Their most expensive season ticket costs £535, below the average of £568 and well below the league's most expensive, who are Ipswich (£842) and Fulham (£839).
Away tickets cost £30 for all visiting teams at Molineux, the survey states. Most clubs offer varying away ticket prices, with only Leeds (£35) having a more expensive 'cheapest' away ticket price than Wolves.
Wolves sell adult shirts for £42, cheaper than the Championship average of £45.50. The most expensive in the division is Sheffield Wednesday (£55) and the cheapest are Burton Albion and Rotherham, at £39.99.
Junior shirts at Wolves are £30. Again this is below the average (£34.66) with Sheffield Wednesday again the most expensive, at £45. Burton offer the cheapest junior shirts, at £22.50. A £3.10 pie at Molineux (down from £3.60) is below the average of £3.32. Fulham and Brighton charge the most at £4. The cheapest Championship pie is at Burton (£2.60).
Wolves sell a cup of tea for £2.30 – way more than Burton's £1.30 but cheaper than Fulham and Bristol City's £2.50.
And finally a programme at Wolves costs £3 – cheaper than the £3.10 average.
