Loan star Adam le Fondre is ready to soar
Fully fit and firing, Adam le Fondre is more than ready for his first Wolves Championship start.
It has been steady going for the 28-year-old since signing on loan from Cardiff at the start of last month.
But having come off the bench and opened his account with a last-gasp winner last time out against Charlton, Le Fondre is eager to see more playing time.
"I feel ready and fresh now for a league start if I get the opportunity," he said. "With the pre-season that I had, I hadn't played too many games before arriving here.
"I've maybe been carrying a bit of something coming in and have had a steady increase in my fitness and workload since.
"Now I am feeling a lot better than I was when I first joined.
"I want to be starting games and scoring goals to help the team and I think the outlook on that is a bit brighter now with my fitness."
With Nouha Dicko now ruled out for the season with a serious knee injury, Le Fondre is almost certain to get his wish and is in line to start this Saturday's game at Bolton, the team with whom he finished last season on loan.
He accepts there is now more pressure on himself and Benik Afobe to deliver the goals as the only two senior forwards at the club.
"It's a real nightmare for Nouha and we all feel for him," he said. "It's a horrible injury which keeps you out for such a long time.
"He is an integral part of the squad and we all wish him a speedy recovery.

"He will certainly be missed on the pitch but we have to try and carry on and be successful.
"Maybe there is more responsibility on Benny and me but we have to take that mantle and try and take it forward."
Le Fondre scored eight times for Bolton in the second half of last season, having hit just three for Cardiff.
"I had a great time there and it really reinvigorated me and re-established me," he added.
"Any striker wants to play and score goals and that is what happened to me there and what I want to carry on here."
