Wolves slackers face battle for places says Kenny Jackett
Hardline Kenny Jackett today warned Wolves slackers Bakary Sako and Leigh Griffiths he will not tolerate another performance like Saturday's as he declared the battle is on for their places.
The Molineux head coach also insisted he hasn't thought about cashing in on Sako in January and backed the winger to return to form. Jackett accused his top scorers of a lack of workrate after hauling both off at half-time of the 2-0 defeat by MK Dons.
"Sako and Griffiths have got to respond in the right way," said Jackett.
"They can't put in a first 45 minutes like they did because it wasn't enough.
"They have to work harder because I was disappointed in what they did and they know their standards have to be kept up.
"But I'm sure they'll get another chance."
Sako has been below par for several weeks now, and, asked if his place is under threat, Jackett said: "I'll see how he responds in training.
"James Henry has a slight groin injury which kept him out of training yesterday, so it depends on injuries. It's up to everybody to perform and there should be competition and alternatives."
Sako's future is unclear after Forest had repeated bids for him rejected. But Jackett said: "I haven't thought about Sako and January – there are no bids."
