The club are believed to have been in talks with the 22-year-old centre-back from Brierley Hill for some time.
Wolves have a 12-month option on his current two-year deal and so in effect have him tied down until 2014, but want to reward him with improved terms after making first-team appearances this season.
Manager Dean Saunders said:?"Danny is going to be a good player and has a big future at the club – I am about to offer him a new contract."
