Match report: Burnley 2 Wolves 0
Wolves suffered one of their weakest performances under Stale Solbakken after they slumped to a two-goal defeat against Burnley at Turf Moor.
Goals in each half from Burnley front men Martin Paterson and Charlie Austin meant Wolves have collected two points from 12; their poorest results sequence of the campaign so far.
Both Burnley goals were the result of some fragile defending by Wolves and the overall impression was once more that of a team still staffed by too many players unsuited to the new style demanded by Solbakken.
A featureless first half ended with Burnley a goal ahead from the simplest of move as Paterson exploited a huge gap between Roger Johnson and Kevin Foley to run on to Ben Mee's through ball and beat Carl Ikeme.
That was after 18 minutes and the second early in the second half was even more criminal when Austin, the country's top scorer, was left unattended to head home easily from a corner.
That was among many uneasy moments for Wolves defenders with Johnson, Christophe Berra and even Kevin Foley suffering a slump in form.
Johnson was sacrificed in a switch to 3-4-3 by Solbakken for the final half hour and Wolves improved visibly but a missed header by Slyvan Ebanks-Blake from a Bakary Sako cross on 70 minutes summed up the day.
