New Wolves signing Jamie Tank today admitted his Molineux move had come "completely out of the blue" as he looked forward to launching his senior career.

The 18-year-old centre-back signed from Walsall yesterday on a two-year deal to become the second capture announced on the day after freed West Ham striker Frank Nouble penned a similar contract.

Northampton-born Tank, who signed for a nominal five-figure fee, had been watched by Wolves since the start of last season.

"I didn't expect it and when I first heard of the proposed move it was completely out of the blue," said the teenager.

"It's a great feeling. I just can't wait to meet up with the lads and to get started with pre-season training."

Tank, who arrived as one of Walsall's highly-rated youngsters, will initially join the younger professionals working with development coach Steve Weaver.

Matt Doherty and Jake Cassidy arrived in similar circumstances two years ago from Bohemians and Airbus UK respectively.

Weaver said:?"I went along to watch him and it was clear he had things in his game that will be a benefit to us."
