Wolves will spend the weekend putting the finishing touches to the £3m signing of Hull winger Stephen Hunt.

The Ireland international is expected to complete his move over the next couple of days before being unveiled as boss Mick McCarthy's fourth new summer signing early next week.

Hunt will quickly follow £2.5m-rated Hull team-mate Steven Mouyokolo into Molineux in a £5.5m double swoop on the Tigers.

His arrival was more protracted owing to his injury that prompted more negotiation over the fee. The 28-year-old wideman broke his foot in February and Wolves wanted a deal structure that reflected the nature of the injury with the player not expected to regain full fitness until after the start of the season.

It is understood Wolves were not prepared to pay anywhere near Hull's initial demands knowing the former Reading man may not be fully up to speed until probably the New Year.

However, a compromise has been reached to allow Hunt to rejoin familiar faces Kevin Doyle, Marcus Hahnemann, Andy Keogh and Kevin Foley.

Chief executive Jez Moxey said: "There are rumours about Stephen Hunt, and we're looking at other players as well.

"I think we'll certainly sign one more player, maybe two, and also see one or two going in the not-too-distant future."

One of those is £1.2m Andrew Surman, who is joining an un-named Championship club.

Meanwhile, Mouyokolo highlighted the influence of former Molineux midfielder Seyi Olofinjana as a key behind his decision to join Wolves.

"Seyi has been a good friend of mine at Hull and he spoke very favourably about Wolves," said the 23-year-old.

"He said he had his best year of football while he was here. He told me Wolves were a very good club with some very warm and friendly people, like a family club."

"I'm still 23 with a lot of improvement to come and experience helps," he added.
