Goalless ex-West Brom frontman set for big Championship move
The promising frontman spent a barren period on loan at The Hawthorns in the second half of 2024/25.
Tottenham prospect Will Lankshear is in advanced talks over a permanent transfer to Middlesbrough.
Lankshear, 21, spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Albion in the Championship, but failed to score in 11 appearances.
Just four of those outings were starts for the Baggies.
The north London youngster’s stock rose last season, however, after a productive term on loan in the second tier with struggling Oxford.
The U’s were eventually relegated, but Lankshear struck 12 goals in all competitions - 11 in the league - and has drawn admirers.
He netted in the 2-1 win over Albion in February, James Morrison’s first game in caretaker charge.

Beaten play-off finalists Boro, under Kim Hellberg, enquired about the striker’s availability in January but he opted to remain at the Kassam Stadium.
Southampton have also been keen on Lankshear, as well as reported interest from Wolves and overseas at Sporting Lisbon, but Boro are reported to have stolen a march in the hunt for the coveted frontman.
Spurs have turned down more than one approach for Lankshear, who has made three substitute appearances for the club, but talks with the Teessiders are progressing well.
A fee for the promising striker is yet to be confirmed, with personal terms also to be ironed out. Middlesbrough are set to receive a significant windfall of more than £20million due to the 20 per cent sell-on clause in the deal that saw former Albion academy prospect Morgan Rogers move to Villa. Rogers is set for Chelsea for a British record £117m.
