Former West Brom forward joins Championship rivals
The star’s contract at The Hawthorns expired last month.
Former Albion forward Karlan Grant has joined Championship rivals Charlton after rejecting an offer to stay with the Baggies.
Grant has signed a two-year deal with the Addicks, the club with whom he began his professional career.
The 28-year-old signed a six-year deal when he joined the Baggies from Huddersfield for £15million in 2020 and went on to score 35 goals in 173 appearances.
Though Albion offered him fresh terms to stay at The Hawthorns, it had been clear for some time he was likely to move on his summer.
The Baggies have already moved to strengthen their forward line with the signings of Barney Stewart and Jimmy-Jay Morgan.
Grant made nearly 100 appearances for Charlton after first breaking through as a teenager.
“There have been plenty of highs and lows along the way, but I am grateful for every moment and proud to have represented this club.
“The experiences, memories and people I have met during my time here will stay with me forever. A special thankyou to all the fans for your support throughout my journey.
