Celtic job only pull for us - Venus

Former Albion and new Celtic assistant manager Mark Venus claims the Parkhead club is the only job Tony Mowbray would have left the Hawthorns for.

Venus went with the new Hoops boss from Albion to the Scottish giants this week - along with first-team coach Peter Grant - to form the new management team in Glasgow.

But Mowbray's trusted lieutenant still reckons the departed Baggies boss has "unfinished business" with his former employers.

The former Wolves defender said: "I think it was a far bigger decision than people realise. He had a lot of affection for the players and the fans at West Bromwich and they were great with him.

"Everyone knows the size of the club at Celtic and to take part in European football was a big pull for him, but I don't think he would have left Albion for anyone else.

"He felt that the job was unfinished there. We only know one way to play and sometimes it was to the detriment of points.

"But the bottom line is that it's what we believe in."
