Bluebirds keeper the No.1 target for Albion
Albion remain hopeful of striking a deal for Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall in the coming days.
Tony Pulis is eager to add another goalkeeper to his squad and the 30-year-old Scotland international is now his No.1 target after attempts to prise Wayne Hennessey away from Crystal Palace came to nothing.

Negotiations with the Welsh club are ongoing, though – contrary to some reports yesterday – a fee is yet to be agreed.
Marshall took part in an open training session in Cardiff yesterday but it is understood to be keen on a move back to the Premier League.
It is thought the Bluebirds will demand around £6million for a player regarded as one of the best in the Championship, though the fact Marshall has a three-game ban carried over from last season may also have an impact on the speed of any deal being completed.
Were the keeper to remain in Wales for the first week of the season, his suspension would be wiped out as the Bluebirds play three times.
A move to Albion before the start of the campaign would leave him unavailable until the end of the month.
Boaz Myhill, who signed a new two-year deal last month, now looks certain to start the season between the sticks but Pulis has made no secret of his desire to introduce a younger alternative to challenge Myhill and regular No.1 Ben Foster.
The latter won't be available for selection until October as he recovers from cruciate ligament surgery.
But he gave another update on his progress yesterday when he tweeted a picture of himself in training.
With less than a week before the Baggies kick-off their Premier League campaign at home to Manchester City, Pulis is meanwhile continuing his efforts to bolster the squad.
The head coach is remaining tight-lipped on how many new faces he wants in but has admits it is 'quite a few'.
Reports Albion had made an 11 million Euro bid for Belgium midfielder and one-time Villa target Dennis Praet are, however, wide of the mark.
