Confirmed West Brom line-up for Bristol City with one change as James Morrison's side look to end long away hoodoo

Albion bid to end their long winless away run in the Championship at Bristol City's Ashton Gate.

The run spans six-and-a-half months but travelling Baggies do so with optimism given last weekend's excellent first league success of 2026 to breathe life into the survival fight.

Boss James Morrison has, unsurprisingly, confirmed just the one change from the side that mauled the Tigers so impressively.

It was an enforced switch - and in a noteworthy position too, as goalkeeper Max O'Leary misses out.

It is a blow to the January recruit, who misses a return to his former club with the calf injury he felt against Hull last weekend.

O'Leary limped off in the second half with the scoreline at 1-0, where he was replaced by Josh Griffiths as Morrison's side won handsomely.

And, as expected, Griffiths has been selected to start between the sticks in the league for the first time since January's 5-0 home defeat to Norwich under Eric Ramsay.

Academy graduate Griffiths was Albion's first choice in the first half of the campaign but lost his place, initially to Joe Wildsmith, and then O'Leary.

Former Bristol Rovers loan goalkeeper Griffiths came into the Baggies' reckoning this time last year under Tony Mowbray for a clash at Ashton Gate, where he was at fault for a last-gasp winner for the Robins.

This time a struggling City side have won just once in eight in all competitions and slipped to mid-table.

Morrison kept the remainder of his Albion side the same after the fine display against Hull, with Daryl Dike a substitute again as striker duo Aune Heggebo and Josh Maja, who both netted last time out, still in place.

Albion (4-4-2): Griffiths; Imray, Phillips, Campbell, Styles; Wallace (c), Molumby, Diakite, Price; Maja, Heggebo

Subs: Wallis (gk), Taylor, Gilchrist, Mowatt, Whitwell, Bostock, Mustapha, Jimoh-Aloba, Dike
