Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is desperate to sign an attacker this window, and sources at the London club say he is interested in Rondon, despite the Venezuelan's struggles in front of goal last season.

The Baggies are yet to receive any contact from the Hammers, and would only entertain a huge offer for Rondon considering how thin the squad currently is.

Albion's No.9 remains Tony Pulis's first-choice up front, and is one of just three players in the squad who can lead the line.

The club rejected a £32million bid for Rondon from Tianjin Quanjian of the Chinese Super League in January, and have no plans to sell him this window.

But the Hammers have an injury-prone attack force and are looking to bolster their forward options.

Stoke have rejected their £20m bid for Marko Arnautovic, although the 28-year-old has handed in a transfer request.

They are also believed to be interested in Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony, who endured an unsuccessful loan spell at the Potters last season.

But it's understood Rondon is also on Bilic's list of potential targets.

The £12m striker scored eight goals for the Baggies last season, but went on a barren spell of nearly five months between mid-December and the start of May. He has two years left on his four-year contract.
