Northampton v Walsall report

Northampton 1 Walsall 1

Walsall face an unwanted FA Cup replay after securing a hard fought draw with Northampton this afternoon.

The Saddlers struck early at Sixfields through Tommy Mooney's 5th minute strike, as he latched onto Mark Bradley's pass.

But their lead lasted only three minutes as the dangerous Andy Kirk fired home from close range to restore parity after 8 minutes.

The Cobblers dominated for long periods in the first half but it was Walsall who went closest to winning the game when Darren Wrack hit the post.
