Ex-Walsall midfielder Jamie Jellis signs for League Two rivals
Jellis was released by Walsall in May after two-and-a-half years at the club.
Ex-Walsall midfielder Jamie Jellis has joined League Two rivals Rotherham United.
The 25-year-old was among 12 players to be released by Walsall at the end of last season and has penned a two-year deal with the Millers.
Jellis joined the Saddlers from non-league Tamworth in January 2024 and spent two-and-a-half years at the club.
He made 100 appearances during his stay at Bescot, scoring eight goals and setting up four more.
His first full season saw Walsall reach the League Two play-off final, after they faded away in the automatic promotion race.
And Jellis contributed seven goals and two assists - including a memorable long-range volley against Grimsby Town in October, which was later voted the Saddlers’ goal of the season.
However, Jellis was handed a 12-month suspended sentence for breaching FA betting offences in September last year, which pre-dated his spell with Walsall.
He scored just once in 43 games in his final season during a 2-1 defeat at Swindon Town on Easter Monday.

Elsewhere, former Walsall striker Danny Johnson has joined Spennymoor Town following his exit from Hartlepool United.
Johnson scored 15 goals in 30 matches on loan at Walsall during the first half of the 2022-23 season.
After returning on a permanent deal in the summer of 2023, Johnson struggled for starts under former head coach Mat Sadler, but still plundered 14 in 58 outings in his second stint.
