Walsall begin a critical 10 days in the season with the visit of Notts County to Bescot on Saturday.

The Saddlers face a quartet of fixtures against promotion contenders as they look to revive their faltering promotion push.

A wretched run of two wins in 12 games has seen them plummet from the league summit into 11th, although only three points separate them from the play-off places.

Walsall's home woes

Walsall are the only team in League Two without a home win in 2026.
Walsall are the only team in League Two without a home win in 2026.

The renewed optimism generated by a 2-1 win at local rivals Shrewsbury Town last weekend was immediately dampened by a 1-0 defeat against Fleetwood Town at Bescot on Tuesday night.

That condemned Walsall to three successive home defeats for the first time since February 2022 and extended their winless run in front of their own supporters to seven games.

They will now be looking to avoid a run of four defeats on the bounce at Bescot for the first time since Brian Dutton's ill-fated reign in early 2021.

Walsall remain the only team in the division who are yet to taste victory on home soil in 2026 and have also failed to score in four of their last five at WS1.
