Walsall's Gary Waddock remembers man-marking Glenn Hoddle for QPR in 1982 FA Cup final
When you witness Gary Waddock unassumingly patrolling the corridors at Walsall's training ground, you would never suspect the heights that he has reached in the game.

He is a humble character, but as a player, Waddock played 21 times for Republic of Ireland, and over 200 times for Queens Park Rangers.
Waddock reached the FA Cup final with the latter in 1982 - eventually losing 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in a replay at the old Wembley Stadium.
"The dream is to play at Wembley in an FA Cup final. Not only for me, but for every young player when they're kids wanting to be professional footballers," reflected Waddock.
"I was very fortunate to do that and I've got some memories. I was a long time ago, but will always remember games like that.
"It's just something you never forget. Unfortunately, we lost in a replay, but I'll always say I played in two cup finals because we went to a replay."
Waddock was tasked with man-marking the legendary Glenn Hoddle who scored the opening goal of the first final in the 110th-minute.

Terence Fenwick forced a replay with an equaliser just five minutes later but an early spot-kick, once again from Hoddle, consigned QPR to defeat five days later.
