The draw, which took place this afternoon, has pitted the Saddlers against Alex Revell's charges, who currently sit fifth in the third-tier.

The tie will take place on the week commencing December 1.

Walsall finished second-place in Group C of the Southern Section - beating Shrewsbury Town 3-1 at Croud Meadow, before falling to a 1-0 home defeat against group winners Northampton Town.

They concluded the group stage with a goalless draw against Chelsea under-21s at Bescot, gaining an extra point by winning 4-2 on penalties.

Stevenage finished top of Group E with a 100 per cent record following wins over AFC Wimbledon, Bromley and Crystal Palace under-21s.

The Saddlers have progressed to the knockout stages of this competition for successive seasons for the first time since 2020.

Last season, Walsall beat Reading on penalties in the round of 32, before bowing out against eventual champions Peterborough, losing 4-2 at London Road.
