League One and League Two resumption hopes fading
Footballers playing in League One and League Two have been told the chances of the current season ever finishing are fading.
The primary focus of the EFL remains to conclude the 2019/20 campaign, EFL chiefs yesterday told the Express & Star.
But there is concern at what standards would need to be met for the leagues to resume with testing at the heart of the issue.
A high number of coronavirus tests would be required for players to conclude the season.
And EFL clubs and board members are worried how it would look carrying out such large scale testing at a time when there are not enough for key workers.
It was reported yesterday club captains have been told to relay to their team-mates that there is a very real possibility of no more football being played this season – with the message sent from Bristol Rovers' Alex Rodman appearing to have been leaked online.
Players the Express & Star has been in touch with have confirmed those messages have been received.
