The Saddlers are looking to register back-to-back league wins for the first time this season following a hugely impressive victory over Bolton last time out.

That result was achieved despite Joe Edwards being sent off after 16 minutes – with the ex-Yeovil man set to miss the trip to London Road as he begins a three-game ban.

Posh meanwhile, have begun the League One campaign in entertaining style with Grant McCann's side having scored 15 goals but conceded 11 in their eight outings.

And Whitney believes the clash will be good for the neutral.

"Peterborough play the right way – they play high tempo, attack-minded football and they try to get the ball into the box," the boss said.

"They have scored the second most goals in the league with 15 but they have also conceded 11 goals as well so it'll be interesting.

"Walsall and Peterborough games are never boring and we have to make sure we limit their chances and keep our discipline.

"For the neutral, it's a mouthwatering clash because of the tempo both teams play at.

"It's is going to be interesting to see who comes out on top but I believe in my players and we expect to get something."

Tomorrow's game sees Erhun Oztumer return to the ABAX Stadium after rejecting the chance to extend his stay with the club over the summer.

"Peterborough wanted to keep him but he is our player now and he has to manage his emotions," added Whitney.
