Dean Holden today admitted he feels like a "dinosaur" at Walsall and backed the Saddlers' young guns to shine.
The defender reckons the club's youthful squad have left him feeling his age after signing for the club this summer.
The Saddlers host Doncaster in their opening League One game on Saturday after the weekend's 1-0 Carling Cup win over Brentford.
And the 32-year-old admits he is ready to pass on his experience to Dean Smith's youthful squad.
He said: "When I came to see the gaffer in the summer he asked me what I could bring to the club off the pitch. One of the big things is I'm there to help the young lads out if they need any help from a dinosaur like me. That's how you feel sometimes because the lads are so young.
"They are young lads who have, for different reasons, come through the systems and all want to go to higher levels, everyone in the team does.
"They are all very attack minded and the lads around them, Chambo (Adam Chambers) and Nicky Featherstone, who sit in front of the back four do a great job because they take a lot of pressure off."
Holden signed a one-year deal after being released by Rochdale in the summer to add the experience
He said: "I gave loved every minute of it so far. I have had so much support from the lads, the gaffer and Richard and the fans. Everyone has been really supportive and I've settled in straight away.
"It's an easy dressing room to come into, everyone has a laugh and a joke. It's a really good team spirit from what I've seen and getting off to a good start will cement that."
