Sam Mantom today thanked Walsall's long-suffering fans for sticking with the Saddlers through the tough times.

The Saddlers have won seven league games at the Banks's Stadium this season in front of an average gate of 4,257 – 224 more than last season – and Mantom said the players appreciate the fans' backing.

"It's been up and down and the football hasn't been great all the time but all you can do is keep the team in the league," said the on-loan Albion midfielder.

"When we've been behind we can hear the crowd trying to get us back in the game."
