Walsall are confident their relish for the big club challenge will send them to The Valley on Monday with a real victory chance.

The Saddlers face League One leaders Charlton two days after tackling bottom club Chesterfield – but manager Dean Smith is confident his team faced both opponents with equal opportunity of success.

Buoyed by stand-out performances against the two promotion-chasing Sheffield clubs this season, Smith said: "There is no doubt the players relish the big stage.

"The bigger the crowd and the bigger the team they are facing then the more it brings out of them, as they have already proved. We will meet Charlton capable of getting a positive result."
