The Saddlers striker's contract expires at the end of the season and the veteran wants to extend his stay.

Boss Dean Smith is keen to change how the Saddlers handle contracts and has said he would look to tie down his stars early rather than wait until the end of the campaign.

And, ahead of tomorrow's League One visit of Bury, Macken revealed his desire to stay but knows it's down to the club.

He said: "They have been very good to me and it's a good club, so why not? It's up at the end of the season but there's been nothing yet."
