Kidderminster Harriers were today expected to confirm the transfer deadline-busting signing of Marvin Johnson.

Johnson's club, Evo-Stik Northern League Division One South side Romulus, allowed him to leave before last night's 11pm deadline.

And Harriers submitted the relevant paperwork in time for the striker to sign a deal, the details of which will be released after the transfer is passed.

The FA were today working through their backlog from transfer deadline day and will send clearance to Aggborough when they come to the case.

Harriers will land Johnson from under the noses of three Championship clubs, who had all shown an interest in the highly-rated forward.

The 21-year-old had a formal trial with Burnley last month, after impressing during a previous week's training with the Clarets in December.

Watford and Bristol City were also linked to the former Solihull Moors youngster, who has scored 18 goals already this season for Romulus.

Meanwhile, Harriers are confident their FA Trophy tie at home to Luton will go ahead - despite cancelling a youth game because of a frozen pitch.

The Conference Youth League clash with Kettering, due to be played today, is off but covers are on the pitch to protect it for Saturday's match.
