Hednesford Town's Birmingham Senior Cup fixture against Burton Albion postponed
Hednesford Town's Birmingham Senior Cup clash against Burton Albion has been postponed, due to a waterlogged pitch.
The Pitmen were scheduled to play Burton tonight, but following heavy rain overnight, Keys Park has been deemed unplayable.
In a statement online, Hednesford confirmed the decision to postpone the fixture.
"Tonight's game against Burton Albion in the Birmingham Senior Cup has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
"After heavy overnight rain the Keys Park pitch has become saturated and with more heavy rain due today would have been unplayable for this evening.
"No new date has been arranged for the fixture."
The club also tweeted several pictures of the pitch following the decision to postpone the game to let fans see the extent of the problem following the adverse weather conditions.
