Hednesford Town to honour supporter with minute’s applause at Keys Park

Supporters at Keys Park will fall silent later this month as Hednesford Town prepare to honour a much-loved member of their community who has passed away.

The club has announced that a minute’s silence will be held ahead of their home fixture against Guiseley on Saturday, March 14, paying tribute to Michelle Fisher whose passing was shared with supporters in recent days.

The tribute will take place shortly before kick-off, with players, officials and supporters invited to join in remembering Michelle's life and her contribution to the club on matchdays.

Friends of Michelle, who died on February 20, have also set up a GoFundMe page to help support her family with funeral arrangements and provide assistance during this challenging time. The club has encouraged anyone who is able to contribute to consider donating.

"We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Pitmen supporter Michelle Fisher," a club statement read. "Our heartfelt condolences are with her family, friends and everyone who knew her at this incredibly difficult time.

"Friends of Michelle have set up a GoFundMe page to help support her family with funeral arrangements and to support the family. If you are able to help, please consider donating.

"As a mark of respect, we will hold a minute’s applause ahead of kick-off at our home game on March 14 to remember Michelle.

"If you or someone you know has been affected by this tragic news, we have shared details of support services on our website."

A statement on the GoFundMe page said: ""A group of close friends are raising funds to help cover funeral expenses to give her the peaceful, dignified farewell she deserves and to support her family.

"Any support, whether through a donation or sharing this page, means more than words can express during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for your kindness and compassion."
