Phil Male now in sole charge at Tividale
Phil Male has taken sole charge as manager of Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South basement boys Tividale.
Ross Thorpe has left the club and handed over the reins to his co-boss, the duo having only arrived in the summer to replace Ian Long.
Last weekend's 2-1 defeat at home to play-off chasers Daventry Town has left the club eight points from safety, in their second campaign at the level.
Tivi finished eighth last season but Long left to drop into the Midlands League Premier Division with Alvechurch, after his playing budget was cut.
Thorpe, a former Alvechurch chief himself, came on board but has now departed from the Beeches although Male, 36, is staying on.
The former Sutton Coldfield Town captain and Tivi player will be assisted by first-team coach Raj Noor, another new recruit in the close season.
A club statement read: "We would like to place on record our thanks to Ross for his efforts and wish him the very best of luck for his future endeavours.
"Phil Male will take charge in a sole capacity ahead of our Boxing Day fixture at Romulus at Coles Lane, working alongside Raj Noor. Christmas is a crucial time from a fixture perspective.
"Our immediate attention is not only to prepare the team for Romulus, but also our home fixture just 48 hours later with Market Drayton Town on Bank Holiday Monday.
"Tividale Football Club will be making no further comment regarding this matter."
