Stocksbridge Park Steels 1 Tividale 1
Tividale came away from what looked like a difficult away fixture at Stocksbridge Park Steels with a well deserved point.
But both sides had chances to take all three points. Stocksbridge had the first attempt.
A Corey Gregory shot was parried by goalkeeper Tom Turner straight into the path of Scott Ruthven, but he shot wide.
Tividale took the lead on 13 minutes when they won a free-kick on the edge of the Stocksbridge area.
Mark Danks stepped up to take it and although his initial effort was smashed into the wall he calmly controlled the rebound and placed it past Stocksbridge goalkeeper David Reay.
Stocksbridge took the game to Tividale from the start of the second half and, on 50 minutes, a Danny Critchlow header from a Gregory cross was deflected wide.
Five minutes, Rory Coleman tried a speculative free-kick that Turner watched sail wide. Gregory and Critchlow teamed up again and the latter's header was tipped over the bar by Turner.
Nine minutes from time, the home side won a free kick in the same position as Tividale had won theirs in the first-half.
But, although Turner got a hand to Coleman's tremendous strike, the Tividale goalkeeper could not keep it out.
Both teams set up goalmouth action in the final minutes, but neither could find a winning goal.
