Tividale downed after a bad start away

Tividale were beaten 2-1 at Spalding United after starting the match on the back foot.

Against a team that narrowly missed out on the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South play-off places last season, the Black Country outfit went behind after just two minutes.

Defender Neal Spafford rose unmarked and headed home a Dan Lawlor corner.

The Tulips took control of the match but could not force another goal before the break and it was Tividale who hit the net next, two minutes after the interval and against the run of play.

Left-back Jason Chilton found Ashley Jackson at the back post and he headed home past Spalding goalkeeper Michael Duggan.

Chances became a rarity with the feeling the next goal could well be the winner and on 77 minutes that is what happened.

From another Lawlor corner, Adam Millson's shot was blocked but the ball fell to Josh Moreman to net Spalding's second.
