Aston Villa skipper Jack Grealish stars but England bow out
Skipper Harry Kane was quick to heap praise on Jack Grealish following his impressive display for England against Belgium last night.
England saw their hopes of a place in next year’s Nations League finals ended by a 2-0 defeat, but it was a night when the Villa star announced himself as an international player.
Grealish produced the best display of his fledgling Three Lions career on his first competitive start and was at the heart of most of England’s promising moments.
“He is a fantastic player and I really like him,” said Kane. “It was great to be out there on the pitch with him and you could see his qualities on the ball.
“Once he gets on it he is not afraid to go one-v-one and is always looking for that pass forward, which is great for a striker.
“He has been on great form for his club as well and he has just got to keep working hard and I am sure he will get plenty of opportunities in an England shirt.”
