Wolverhampton teacher suspended from classroom for 'at least five years' after tribunal findings

A former teacher at a Wolverhampton school has been suspended for five years after receiving a prohibition order.

Ramesh Mal, a former teacher at Heath Park School between 2010 and 2022 will not be able to teach in any school, sixth form college, relevant youth accommodation or children’s home in England until at least 2031.

It follows the findings of a tribunal into his conduct when working at the school between May 2002 and November 2022 which found him guilty of unprofessional conduct.

The tribunal was formed of a professional conduct panel of the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) and started in November last year but concluded last month.

It found proven a number of counts surrounding people identified as Person A and Person B but others not proven, including an allegation over an incident with a pupil, called Pupil A.
