Aston Villa tracking Croatia winger as part of summer attack plan
Attacking areas will be a key focus for Unai Emery in the upcoming transfer window.
Villa are keeping tabs on Como winger Martin Baturina as they try to bolster their attack this summer.
The 23-year-old Croatia international was a key player for the Italian club as they qualified for the Champions League under the guidance of former Arsenal and Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
Villa boss Unai Emery wants to add more pace to his team in attacking areas and Baturina, who has also been tracked by Bayern Munich, is of interest.
But a deal may be difficult to pull off, with reports in Italy claiming Como value their star at more than £50million.
Emery is also keen on Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye, though there is competition for the 18-year-old’s signature.
Villa are one of several Premier League clubs to have considered a move for Harry Wilson, who is due to become a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the month.
Newcastle’s Harvey Barnes is another player on the shortlist following a strong season in which he scored 16 goals in all competitions.
In addition to adding more firepower in attack, Emery wants a right-sided defender who can also provide cover in the full-back positions.
Goalkeeper will become a priority position should Emi Martinez depart. Reports in Italy continue to link the Argentina international with Juventus.
Villa have no desire to sell Martinez, yet a suitable offer would prompt them to consider moving on from the keeper who has been their No.1 for the last six seasons.
