Aston Villa see record-breaking season ticket renewals despite price hike

Club are looking to kick on again after a successful season.

Villa are celebrating a record-breaking first day of season ticket sales with more than 9,000 supporters already renewed for next season.

The club claim the figures surpass the previous record set two years ago, with fans still on a high following last month’s Europa League triumph.

More than two-thirds of supporters who renewed opted for a 23-match package which includes all four Champions League home group stage fixtures, in addition to the 19 Premier League games.

Villa currently have close to 30,000 season ticket holders and the demand for tickets remains undiminished despite prices rising for a fifth straight season.

The club last week confirmed another five per cent increase which saw the cost of a Premier League-only season ticket increase to nearly £1,000.

Fans without season tickets, meanwhile, will be charged up to £99 to attend Champions League matches.

Villa will play in front of a reduced capacity of around 37,000 next season, with the North Stand closed for the whole campaign while it is redeveloped.

Work is due to be completed in time for the 2027-28 season, when the stadium’s capacity will be more than 50,000. Villa have already guaranteed a price freeze on matchday tickets for that season.
