The Baggies have confirmed the offer of free travel to the April 6 fixture, in what is both a gesture of thanks to fans for their backing this season and a method of getting as many people as possible to Ewood Park, for what is likely to be a crucial date in the Championship relegation battle.

James Morrison’s men currently sit 21st in the table, one place and three points behind Rovers.

Albion have an initial allocation of 4,417 for the match but a further 2,979 tickets can be requested, depending on demand, with fans all situated behind the goal in the Darwen End.

The decision on offering free coach travel was taken following consultation between the club and their fan advisory board, the Albion Assembly and independent supporters’ trust.

Despite being winless in 15 away Championship matches - which included a run of 10 straight defeats - Albion have continued to be backed by big numbers on their travels.

The club were keen to repay the faith of fans, while also recognising the benefit of a big following for what should be a pivotal match in their campaign.

Supporters must pay a £5 deposit for coach travel at the time of booking, though that will be refunded. Parking restrictions at Ewood Park mean the club are limited to a maximum of 30 coaches.

Albion, who are winless in 12 Championship games, face four matches before the trip to Lancashire, starting with Wednesday’s visit of Southampton.

They then welcome Hull on Saturday, before visiting Bristol City on March 21 and hosting Wrexham on Good Friday.
