Over Christmas, the 30-year-old surpassed 300 club career appearances - 132 of which have been played in the red of Walsall

Yet the Montserrat international has never lost sight of the privileged position he is in, even if it has been a constant fight to get there.

Comley on his pre-Walsall struggles

"There's so many people that want to be footballers or take someone else's shirt," he notes.

"People don't realise how competitive it is and how cutthroat it can be at times.

"They just see the outside view of it with everyone putting wonderful pictures up of them playing football and their lifestyles on social media.

"But they don't see the other side of it. It's something that people definitely need to take into consideration because there are a lot of people struggling with things.
