'That's so long' - Aston Villa boss Unai Emery makes Ezri Konsa contract point
Unai Emery believes there is no rush to extend Ezri Konsa’s contract as the centre-back continues to shine for Villa.
The 28-year-old has been a standout performer this season and established himself as a regular starter in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.
Villa have extended the deals of several players already this season, most recently Morgan Rogers who signed through to 2031.
But with Konsa already tied down to 2028, Villa do not see any urgency in adding him to the list of planned contract renewals in the short-term.
His situation is instead likely to be assessed next summer, when he will have two years remaining.
