Wolves speedway promoter on club's search for a new home
Wolves speedway promoter Chris Van Straaten admits there has been “very little progress” in the club’s search for a new home since leaving Monmore Green nearly two years ago.

Van Straaten, the country’s longest-serving promoter, remains determined to bring the sport back to the city but said he also needed to be realistic about what could be achieved.
Wolves have not raced since Monmore’s owners, Entain, decided they no longer wanted to host speedway at the venue.
The sport in the region, meanwhile, took another big hit this month with Birmingham Brummies racing for the final time at Perry Barr before the stadium is turned into housing.
It means there are currently no active teams in the West Midlands and Van Straaten said: “It’s frightening there is no Midlands speedway. This region was once the hotbed of the sport.
