Walsall 0-1 Grimsby - ratings: Four 7s and one 5 in narrow Saddlers defeat
George Bennett gives his Walsall player ratings from their 1-0 defeat against Grimsby Town at Bescot.
Myles Roberts - 7
Excellent - Tipped Jaze Kabia's finish on to the post and denied Charles Vernam with a smart one-on-one save. Produced another save after Grimsby's goal to keep out Kieran Green.
Harrison Burke - 7
Solid - Retained his place in the team and kept Grimsby wide man Vernam quiet in the first half by pouncing on him whenever the ball came within his vicinity.
Aden Flint - 7
Strong - Cleared Green's header off the line but was powerless to prevent Evan Khouri from converting the rebound. Was dominant in the air overall and provided a threat in the opposing box too.
Dan Cox - 6
Difficult - Hit the bar from distance and was controversially ruled offside prior to Ryan Finnigan's disallowed goal. Did well for 70 minutes, but crumbled once Grimsby scored, and was fortunate not to be shown a second yellow card late on.
Lewis Warrington - 6
Challenging - Was recalled to the base of midfield and forced a smart stop from Christy Pym with a low effort from distance. Did relatively well in the first half but was caught on the ball on numerous occasions after the break.
Connor Barrett - 7
