'It's a bit early...!' James Morrison on his learning curve in West Brom role
Albion caretaker James Morrison admitted he thoroughly enjoyed his place in the dugout - but any senior head coach role is too early for him.
Former Baggies midfielder Morrison, 38, last week swapped first-team coach for interim boss in the wake of the sacking of Tony Mowbray, who first brought him to the club in 2007.
He has been first-team coach at The Hawthorns twice, under Steve Bruce in 2022 and then Mowbray this year and otherwise worked in a youth coaching role, as well as in a coaching capacity with the Scotland national squad.
Morrison, a veteran of almost 350 appearances in his playing days in blue and white stripes, admitted he could be tempted by a senior head coaching role but that it comes a little early in his post-playing development. There is no suggestion the club are looking to appoint from within.
"It's about different from what I'm used to!" Morrison said having watched his side record a goalless draw at relegated side Cardiff.
