Pics had the better of the first half as the went in at half-time 1-0 up courtesy of a Jamie Spencer header.

Lewis Codling did force Ryan Price into a smart stop down to his left in a rare first half Mariners attack but the resultant corner came to nothing.

James Short sent a long ball forward from around the halfway line which turned into an effort on target which Price did well to get back and tip over the bar. On 17 minutes, however, the Pics took the lead as Josh McKenzie fired towards Marine's goal and Matty Cooper parried his effort down but Spencer followed up on the bounce to nod into the far corner.

Alex Reid almost grabbed a second just before half time and he tried to sweep home from 15 yards but the ball didn't curl back enough and flashed just wide.

The hosts came out flying in the second half and scored twice in two minutes as Jake Heath scrambled in from within a yard on 51 minutes. Less than 60 seconds later Kieran Morris creeped forward from right back and slotted in after Reid had hit the post.

The Mariners started to play better football but still failed to fashion any real chances to hurt the Pics who move up to eighth.
