Vital week for Khalsa likely to shape their season
Sporting Khalsa boss Ian Rowe is ready to gee his side up ahead of a vital week of Midland League action.
The Premier Division outfit, who sit sixth with 28 points, welcome ninth-placed Lye Town to the Aspray Arena.
The Willenhall side have fallen back to earth with a bump after their FA Cup heroics, slipping to FA Vase and Staffordshire Senior Cup defeats in recent weeks.
But clashes with Lye, Walsall Wood and Rocester in the next seven days is likely to shape Rowe's side's season.
"It can have a big shape on the season," the boss said. "We've suffered a bit with after the Lord Mayor's Show recently.
"This week could have us fourth but could also be as low as 10th.
"But we've not been beaten domestically at home and I've not lost two in a row in my time here."
Lye are one of only two teams to beat Khalsa in the Premier Division this season, courtesy of a final-minute 1-0 defeat in September.
"It's not a revenge mission but we want to put it right," he said. "We were unlucky that day. But they're on back of a 6-1 win and are well organised."
Influential skipper Lee Wherton (knee) is set to miss another two weeks.
