Bottom-of-the-league Ramsbottom, took the lead when Shelton Payne sent in a low cross which Mitchell Tolley put through his own net on 27 minutes.

Things then went from bad to worse for the visitors.

Massiah McDonald missed a shooting opportunity before Aris Christophorou saw red for bringing down Payne when he was clean through.

Yet the Pics almost levelled right on the stroke of half-time when Jack Duggan's header was cleared off the Ramsbottom line by Matthew Poscha.

Luke Benbow went close twice early on in the second half, firing wide from distance and then clipping the post with an overhead kick.

It proved to be third time lucky for Benbow who equalised on 54 minutes, rounding keeper Grant Shenton and slotting in left-footed.

All the chances were falling to Rushall now with Duggan and Benbow forcing good saves from Shenton.

But Payne inflicted a cruel blow with a near-post finish to win the game for the hosts with six minutes to go.
