Colwyn Bay 1 Halesowen 1
A free-kick from Reece Hales rescued a well-earned point for Halesowen in a 1-1 draw at Colwyn Bay.
The new-look home side went into the Evo-Stik Northern Premier game on a five-match losing run but started well, Yeltz keeper Daniel Platt twice denying John Marsden.
Halesowen had just one shot in the first half, but improved after the interval and it needed a couple of fine blocks by Will Bell and a goal-saving tackle by Josh Sumner on Aaron Daniels to deny the visitors.
But Colwyn Bay got back on top, Kev Holsgrove's shot deflected for a corner and James Graham heading narrowly wide.
The Yeltz looked to have lost it on 77 minutes when John Marsden's shot on the run from the edge of the area went inside the far post to put the home side ahead.
But Hales stepped up on 84 minutes with a super free-kick by Hales and substitute Jean Michel Gueyes could have won it at the end only to be denied by a tackle from Bell.
