It was a good performance by John Hill's men, though Daniel Platt in goal had to make a number of saves.

After a slow opening, Halesowen took the lead on 14 minutes when Platt's headed clearance eventually found Keyon Reffel on the right. He squared the ball to Aaron Daniels who turned and finished beautifully.

Platt denied Jack Phillips twice and Kenny Strickland, but generally the Yeltz were on top.

Skelmersdale substitute Louis Corrigan went close but again Platt was in top form.

Halesowen increased their lead on 72 minutes when Reece Hales ran across the edge of the box and shot into the corner.

Skelmersdale captain Robert McIntosh reduced the deficit with a fierce shot four minutes from time. But Yeltz held on and host Mickleover tomorrow in good heart.
