After a disastrous Birmingham Senior Cup exit to Coleshill Town in the week, Bernie McNally's side return to National League North action as they visit mid-table Chorley.

The left-back said: "We've had one clean sheet in all competitions. I'd be kidding myself if I said that we were happy.

"We've conceded nine goals in two games – one against a side three divisions lower – and that is not good.

"Even in our two Alfreton matches

under the new boss we've conceded eight times.

"I'm speaking for all of the defence that we need to be better."

But James, who signed from Nuneaton in the summer, admitted he would not care as much should the three points start flowing.

He added: "It would be nice to keep the clean sheets but if we were to concede six and score seven every week I'd take that over loads of 0-0s. Everything that was

said about us after the Coleshill defeat was right.

"We were atrocious but it is how you react in the next game.

"If we take the spirit and commitment from the Alfreton FA Cup game to Chorley then we'll be absolutely fine."

James knows all about Chorley after his trip to Duke Street with Nuneaton last season.

"We went there both fairly high and they smashed us 6-0. They're a very decent side."
